The celebrated City of Bath Male Choir will be performing at St John the Baptist Church in Chipping Sodbury on Saturday November 25. The choir received world-wide acclaim when they reached the final stages of the BBC’s popular Last Choir Standing series.
Since that time they have toured Europe as well as visiting Japan and the USA on two occasions. Most recently they were in Nashville last October singing to sell-out audiences in Tennessee.
The concert in Chipping Sodbury will support the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity. The charity is the choice of Yate & Chipping Sodbury Good Afternoon Choir singers. A community popular choir that started singing six years ago and led by Sian Walters.
Common denominator between the two choirs is Grenville Jones who lives in Bath and is the founder of the Bath Male Choir as well as the Good Afternoon Choirs that now stretch across the West of England from Gloucester to Cornwall. Over 1,200 people sing in Grenville’s choirs.
“Our Yate & Chipping Sodbury Good Afternoon Choir meet every Wednesday from 2pm-4pm at St Mary’s Church in Yate and we always welcome new members. There are no auditions, great music and we are really looking forward to it,” said Sian Walters their conductor.
The Chipping Sodbury concert will take place at 7.30pm with tickets now available online priced £10 from gac.ticketlight.co.uk
This promises to be a fabulous night of music with the rare opportunity to hear one of the UK’s best-loved male choirs who are famous for their ‘Standing Ovations!’
