We are delighted to be back singing at our weekly rehearsals at Turnberries Community Centre in the Avon Hall from 1-3pm. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
The Thornbury Good Afternoon Choir meets every Thursday afternoon from 1-3pm and the founder of the Good Afternoon Choirs is delighted to welcome our NEW Conductor Brendan Casey (pictured) to the Good Afternoon Choir team!
Brendan hails from Christchurch, New Zealand and studied music at Victoria University majoring in Vocal Performance. He has been active in the Southwest as a singer, teacher and Musical Director with companies such as BLOC, BAOS and Bristol Opera. More recently he was Musical Director for Thornbury Musical Theatre Group’s ‘Barnum’ in 2019 and has also taken masterclasses with Northavon Youth Theatre Company. He is delighted to be joining the Good Afternoon Choir family.
There are NO AUDITIONS and everyone is welcome. The Thornbury Good Afternoon Choir enjoys all sorts of music – from folk songs to choral favourites. Many of the people in the Good Afternoon Choirs have never sung in a choir before, however there are now over 1,000 people singing in the Afternoons! There is NO charge for attending your first rehearsal and membership forms are always available.
The choir rehearsals are in 4 terms of 10 weeks and members pay £50 per term, this covers room hire, music, admin and musician fees. You DO NOT need to join at the start of a term, you can simply come along to any rehearsal and pick up a members form should you wish to join the choir - your fee will then be worked out for the remainder of that term.
If you have any questions about the Choir please contact Tracey or Jody at Grenville's office in Westfield/Midsomer Norton for any information, by calling 01761 472468 or emailing gac@grenvillemusic.co.uk – or just come along to your first free session with a friend of course!
