It’s time to SING and join a CHOIR!
Hello - We are the Good Afternoon Choirs – FUN Community Choirs that sing in the AFTERNOONS across the West Country! As you can see from the pictures on this website, we enjoy making music and performing at concerts and raising money for many local organisations and charities. There are NO AUDITIONS and previous singing experience is not important – if you enjoy singing in the car, or at home …? Why not come along and find out what singing in an afternoon choir is like - bring a friend - everyone welcome! There is no charge for your first “meet us” rehearsal! Our picture above shows the Frome GAC in action recently at the Assembly Rooms in Frome with Matt out front - they raised £724 for the bells at Woodlands St Katherine Church. Our picture below shows the South Gloucestershire GAC at Kingswood in front of a packed church supporting Alzheimer’s U.K. Other recent concerts were with Bristol GAC and guests the Bristol Military Wives Choir raising a superb £580 for their chosen charity, Gympanzees. Our Wells GAC performed with the Cheddar Male Choir also raising a magnificent £532 for the PAPYRUS charity. North Somerset GAC, with guests Pill Festival Band, raised £344for the Children's Air Ambulance and our Bath GAC raised £400 to enable a new music therapy group for Parkinson's sufferers living in the City - their guests were the talented Curtain Up Theatre School. All the benefitting charities or local groups are chosen by the members of the choirs. Many more concerts in the months ahead and full details can always be found on our concerts page
