The popular Devizes Good Afternoon Choir will be singing out to support the work of the Devizes Branch of Parkinson’s at the Corn Exchange on Saturday September 17th.
The no-audition choir was founded by Bath’s music man, Grenville Jones in May 2009 and has over 100 singers who meet every Friday afternoon in St Andrews, Long Street from 2pm – 4pm.
Since its inception, the choir has supported many local charities raising hundreds of pounds and special guests on September 17 will be the Mayor of Devizes, Councillor Jane Burton and her husband.
The theme for the evening is SHOWTIME and the choir will perform music from popular musicals including Sound of Music and Oklahoma.
Guest soloist is the brilliant young baritone, Tom Corbishley. Tom hails from Trowbridge and has won numerous awards and accolades. He is now studying in Cardiff. Tickets for the concert are priced £10 available from choir members or from Devizes Books – Handle House, Sidmouth Street, Devizes, SN10 1LD.
