The Frome Good Afternoon Choir rehearse every Monday afternoon at Holy Trinity Church from 2.00-4.00pm.
Grenville Jones, the founder of the Good Afternoon Choirs is delighted that Matt Finch is the leader of the Frome Good Afternoon Choir.
Matt runs 4 popular Good Afternoon Community Choirs every week and loves the fun of singing together and making amazing music during the afternoons. Matt lives in Bath where he is well-known as Musical Director of the Bath Light Operatic Group, you may well have attended one of their wonderful shows at the Bath Theatre Royal in years past. All Good Afternoon Choir members enjoy singing Matt's very special arrangements, especially at the Big Sings when all the Good Afternoon Choirs join together to sing in one venue.
A warm welcome awaits any new members, there are NO auditions and everyone is welcome! There is no charge for attending your first rehearsal. Come alone or with a friend – either way Matt and the Choir will be pleased to meet you. You will be joining over 1,000 people singing at Good Afternoon Choirs around the South West and beyond!
Membership forms are available to collect at every rehearsal. The choir rehearsals are in 4 terms of 10 weeks and members pay £58 per term – this covers room and piano hire, music, admin and musician fees. You do not need to join at the start of a term, you can simply come along to any rehearsal and pick up a membership form should you wish to join the choir – your fee will then be worked out for the remainder of that term.

Rook Chapel Concert March 2025
Frome Good Afternoon Choir performed at the lovely Rook Chapel, Frome - with its fantastic acoustics - on 29th March 2025 as guests of Frome Show Choir. Matt Finch, their Leader, said that "the choir raised the roof!"

Frome Holy Trinity Church Concert July 2024
Frome Good Afternoon Choir had a wonderful time participating in the Frome Festival this year. Their concert in Holy Trinity Concert commenced with a welcome from the Frome Festival Director and their special guests - Taunton Deane Male Voice Choir - helped to make it a truly memorable occasion.

Frome FM visit Frome Good Afternoon Choir rehearsal
Frome Good Afternoon Choir were visited by Rupert Kirkham frome Frome FM at a rehearsal in July 2024. Frome FM recorded the choir getting ready for their upcoming Frome Festival concert with Taunton Deane Male Voice Choir and interviewed Leader Matt Finch.
Rupert commented that Matt was "a great interviewee!" and promised that the interview would get lots of air time. He sent us some photographs of the rehearsal (below).
Frome Assembly Rooms Concert March 2024
Frome Good Afternoon Choir performed at the Assembly Rooms in March 2024 in a concert to raise money for St Katherine's Church. The highly talented Jess Finch and Simon Carr-Minns appeared as special guests performing music theatre songs to a very appreciative audience.
Christmas 2023
The Frome Good Afternoon Choir had a wonderful concert with special guests the children from Vallis First School at Holy Trinity Church, Frome in December 2023.
Concerts July 2023
The Frome Good Afternoon Choir were delighted to invite Chippenham & Calne GAC, and Warminster & Westbury GAC to Holy Trinity Church in Frome for a combined fundraising concert. We sang some new challenging pieces as separate choirs but came together as one big choir to sing some classic Good Afternoon Choir songs. We were treated to a fantastic rendition of Summertime from Tanya (Warminster & Westbury choir leader), and the evening was accompanied by Matt Finch (Frome, Chippenham & Calne Choir leader). The audience joined in several rounds and helped raise over £460 for local charities.

Concerts 2022
Frome Good Afternoon Choir recently welcome The West Malling Community Choir to Holy Trinity Church for a joint concert. You can hear the two choirs singing Flying Free (Don Besig) and Imagine (John Lennon) below and you can also hear Frome performing Singing in the Rain, May it Be, Black Hills of Dakota and A Million Dreams.
