The Frome Good Afternoon Choir were delighted to invite Chippenham & Calne GAC, and Warminster & Westbury GAC to Holy Trinity Church in Frome for a combined fundraising concert. We sang some new challenging pieces as separate choirs but came together as one big choir to sing some classic Good Afternoon Choir songs. We were treated to a fantastic rendition of Summertime from Tanya (Warminster & Westbury choir leader), and the evening was accompanied by Matt Finch (Frome, Chippenham & Calne Choir leader). The audience joined in several rounds and helped raise over £460 for local charities.

The Frome Good Afternoon Choir meets every Monday afternoon from 2pm - 4pm in the HALL at Holy Trinity Church, Frome. EVERYONE IS WELCOME and there is NO charge for attending your first rehearsal when membership forms will be available.
Grenville Jones, the founder of the Good Afternoon Choirs is delighted that Matthew Finch leads the choir.
Matt loves singing, rehearsing choirs and playing the piano. He has been Musical Director of Bath Light Operatic Group for over 20 years, so you may have seen the back of his head in the orchestra pit of the Theatre Royal Bath! Matt enjoys having fun, and singing some lovely music with the Frome Good Afternoon Choir. See Music Team.

There are no auditions and everyone is welcome. Many of the people in our Good Afternoon Choirs have never sung in a choir before, however over 1,000 people now sing in the Afternoons!
The choir rehearsals are in 4 terms of 10 weeks and members pay £54 per term, this covers room hire, music, admin and musician fees. You DO NOT need to join at the start of a term, you can simply come along to any rehearsal and pick up a members form should you wish to join the choir - your fee will then be worked out for the remainder of that term. The Frome Good Afternoon Choir enjoys all sorts of music – from folk songs to choral favourites. If you have any questions about the Choir please contact Tracey or Jody at Grenville's office in Westfield/Midsomer Norton for any information, by calling 01761 472468 or emailing gac@grenvillemusic.co.uk – or just come along to your first free session with a friend of course! |
