The Taunton Good Afternoon Choir rehearse every Tuesday afternoon at Temple Methodist Church from 2.00-4.00pm.
Grenville Jones, the founder of the Good Afternoon Choirs is delighted that Henry Collard-Jenkins is the leader of the Taunton Good Afternoon Choir.
Henry lives in Taunton and has sung with Taunton Minster Choir from the age of seven. He is now their organ scholar, and has written a set of evening canticles that he will also conduct. He has played and toured with Somerset County Youth Orchestra, Chris Grabham’s Pop Orchestra and other ensembles.
He has recently arranged and MD’d the Trull Players Pantomime, assists with conducting Taunton Children’s Orchestra, and has written a piece for them to perform.
A warm welcome awaits any new members, there are NO auditions and everyone is welcome! There is no charge for attending your first rehearsal. Come alone or with a friend – either way Henry and the Choir will be pleased to meet you. You will be joining over 1,000 people singing at Good Afternoon Choirs around the South West and beyond!
Membership forms are available to collect at every rehearsal. The choir rehearsals are in 4 terms of 10 weeks and members pay £58 per term – this covers room and piano hire, music, admin and musician fees. You do not need to join at the start of a term, you can simply come along to any rehearsal and pick up a membership form should you wish to join the choir – your fee will then be worked out for the remainder of that term.
If you have any questions about the Choir please contact Jody or Tracey at Grenville's office in Westfield/Midsomer Norton via e-mail [email protected] or tel 01761 472468.

Taunton Good Afternoon Choir held a lovely concert at Temple Methodist Church in July 2025. Their special guest was fantastic cellist, Chris Sampson.
Unfortunately the choir sadly said "good bye" to their much loved leader - Chris Grabham - at this concert as he is moving to London to take up a role at the BRIT school in Croydon. We all wish him the best of luck!
