The Tyldesley with Leigh Good Afternoon Choir rehearse every Tuesday afternoon at Astley and Tyldesley Methodist Church from 1.00-3.00pm.
Grenville Jones, the founder of the Good Afternoon Choirs is delighted that Rachel Abbott is the leader of the Tyldesley with Leigh Good Afternoon Choir.
Rachel completed studies on ENO’s opera works programme in 2017 and prior to this she completed postgraduate studies at the RNCM. Rachel often performs solo concerts and sings with choirs regularly. She has performed a variety of roles, has a wide-ranging musical background and plays numerous instruments as well as singing. She teaches singing and piano privately and in schools as well as co-running a local community choir. Rachel absolutely loves bringing music to the community and sharing a sing song.
A warm welcome awaits any new members, there are NO auditions and everyone is welcome! There is no charge for attending your first rehearsal. Come alone or with a friend – either way Rachel and the Choir will be pleased to meet you. You will be joining over 1,000 people singing at Good Afternoon Choirs around the South West!
Membership forms are available to collect at every rehearsal. The choir rehearsals are in 4 terms of 10 weeks and members pay £68 per term – this covers room and piano hire, music, admin and musician fees. You do not need to join at the start of a term, you can simply come along to any rehearsal and pick up a membership form should you wish to join the choir – your fee will then be worked out for the remainder of that term.
