Come along and meet Corrie Darker our conductor at the Malmesbury Good Afternoon Choir. The choir rehearses every Wednesday from 1-3pm at The Old School Room, Malmesbury Town Hall. a
‘Discover’ great music, with NO CHARGE to attend the first rehearsal. Thousands sing in our 20 Good Afternoon Choirs across the West. There is music, fun and concerts with special events and visits.
Corrie Darker leads the choir and our founder is Grenville Jones. There is NO CHARGE for attending your first rehearsal and membership information is then available. COME ALONG WITH A FRIEND.
Corrie (pictured) has lived in Malmesbury for twelve years and is an active member of the local music community. She conducted her first choir at 14 and has been Assistant Musical Director of the Malmesbury Community Choir since 2019. She also leads and sings with local acapella group, The Minuettes. Come and meet Corrie any Wednesday for a ‘Good Afternoon’. There are NO AUDITIONS and everyone is welcome at our afternoon Choirs... whilst some members have sung before, many are new to choir singing - it’s a great way to make new friends. You will be joining over 1000 people Singing in the Afternoons! Pictured above - the group who sang in Truro Cathedral in 2019 and yes there are more weekends away in the future plus fundraising concerts for local charities.
The Malmesbury Good Afternoon Choir enjoys all sorts of music – from folk songs to choral favourites. If you have any questions about the Choir please contact Jody at Grenville's office by calling 01761 472468 or emailing gac@grenvillemusic.co.uk - or just come along to your first free rehearsal, with a friend of course!
The choirs support local charities, chosen by the choir members. Some of you may recognise Grenville who founded the Good Afternoon Choirs 14 years ago. He’s been seen on TV and Radio many times for his choir leaderships AND as founder of the Golden-Oldies Charity.
