A brilliant concert from the North Somerset Good Afternoon Choir, who were in fine form, and special guests, Ukebox, were great! The bucket shake raised a sensational £775 for the Children's Air Ambulance - well done to all involved.
North Somerset GAC members were delighted to sing in support of the Dementia Meeting Centre, Clevedon on 31st January 2022.
Service users and families joined us for many of the popular songs, singing along to their catchy choruses, moving in time to the music and adding some percussion sounds for extra sparkle. Thank you to David and team for making us so welcome!

The North Somerset Good Afternoon Choir meets every Wednesday afternoon from 1pm - 3pm at Nailsea Methodist Church – BS48 2DS and there is NO charge for attending your first rehearsal and membership information will be available. Choir rehearsals are in 4 terms of 10 weeks and members pay £54 per term, this covers all room and piano hire, music, admin and the musician fees. You do not need to join at the start of a term, you can simply come along to any rehearsal and pick up a members form should you wish to join the choir - your fee will then be worked out for the remainder of that term.
Grenville Jones, the founder of the Good Afternoon Choirs is delighted that Ruth Jenkins (pictured) is the Leader. Ruth graduated in Music at Birmingham University, specialising in voice and conducting the University Chamber Choir. After training as a Music Therapist at Roehampton Institute, and conducting the Wimbledon YMCA choir, she worked in the NHS for 7 years in clinics and hospital settings. Since training as a teacher at Warwick University, Ruth spent the last 12 years teaching music in schools and sings for her local church. Ruth looks forward to conducting North Somerset GAC!
There are no auditions and everyone is welcome. Many of the people across our Good Afternoon Choirs have never sung in a choir before. Over 1,000 people now sing in the Afternoons!
The North Somerset Good Afternoon Choir enjoys all sorts of music – from folk songs to choral favourites. If you have any questions about the Choir please contact Tracey or Jody at Grenville's office in Westfield/ Midsomer Norton for any information, by calling 01761 472468 or emailing gac@grenvillemusic.co.uk - or just come along to your first free session with a friend of course!

A fantastic concert was held on Oct 22nd 2022 with Pill Festival Band raising money for Springfield Opportunity Group. The choir was on top form and the concert was enjoyed by all and a wonderful £325 was raised for the charity.
