The North Somerset Good Afternoon Choir rehearse every Wednesday afternoon at Nailsea Methodist Church from 1.00-3.00pm.
Grenville Jones, the founder of the Good Afternoon Choirs is delighted that Andrew Kirk is taking over as the leader of the North Somerset Good Afternoon Choir.
Andrew is an energetic and versatile freelance choral director, accompanist and composer/arranger working mainly in the Bristol and North Somerset area. He is the Musical Director of Henbury Singers, as well as playing the organ and conducting choirs at various churches on Sundays. He is one of the regular accompanists for Melody Makers Choir. He has worked with all age ranges of singer over a 30 year career, in a variety of styles. He was Director of Music at St Mary Redcliffe Church Bristol for two decades, a highlight of which included a live BBC1 TV broadcast on Christmas Day!
A warm welcome awaits any new members, there are NO auditions and everyone is welcome! There is no charge for attending your first rehearsal. Come alone or with a friend – either way Andrew and the Choir will be pleased to meet you. You will be joining over 1,000 people singing at Good Afternoon Choirs around the South West and beyond!
Membership forms are available to collect at every rehearsal. The choir rehearsals are in 4 terms of 10 weeks and members pay £58 per term – this covers room and piano hire, music, admin and musician fees. You do not need to join at the start of a term, you can simply come along to any rehearsal and pick up a membership form should you wish to join the choir – your fee will then be worked out for the remainder of that term.
If you have any questions about the Choir please contact Tegen or Jody at Grenville's office in Westfield/Midsomer Norton via e-mail [email protected] or tel 01761 472468.

Christmas Break
Christmas Concert 2024
Andrew Kirk (front row - jumper with Santa heads on it) lead his first concert with North Somerset GAC in December 2024. Their special guests for this lovely Christmas concert were the children from Kingshill Church School.
Nailsea Carnival
Some members of North Somerset GAC performing whilst raising money with their tombola stall for their chosen charity, ‘JHF’, at the Nailsea Carnival on 6/7/24! It was a tempestuous day with storm clouds over- head, but that didn’t deter the choir from singing such greats as’ All You Need is Love’, ‘With a Little Help from my Friends’, Raindrops keep Falling on my Head’ and ‘Singing in the Rain’! Being part of this wonderful local community event did indeed feel glorious! Bravo North Somerset GAC!

2023 Concert
A brilliant concert from the North Somerset Good Afternoon Choir, who were in fine form, and special guests, Ukebox, were great! The bucket shake raised a sensational £775 for the Children's Air Ambulance - well done to all involved.

A fantastic concert was held on Oct 22nd 2022 with Pill Festival Band raising money for Springfield Opportunity Group. The choir was on top form and the concert was enjoyed by all and a wonderful £325 was raised for the charity.

North Somerset GAC members were delighted to sing in support of the Dementia Meeting Centre, Clevedon on 31st January 2022.
Service users and families joined us for many of the popular songs, singing along to their catchy choruses, moving in time to the music and adding some percussion sounds for extra sparkle. Thank you to David and team for making us so welcome!
