Big Sings and Tours
Malmesbury Abbey - Big Sing July 2024
Our first BIg Sing of 2024 took place on July 24th with members of 10 Good Afternoon Choirs from our North region! The day was a fantastic success with a workshop in the afternoon with our leaders Laurie, Corrie, Sian, Brendan and Matt and 200 happy singers. A concert took place at 7.00pm in the evening which featured all those who attended the workshop plus another 100 audience members - a packed Malmesbury Abbey!
The guests were the Malmesbury concert band and the Good Afternoon Choirs also performed the pieces they had rehearsed at the workshop. Our office has been inundated with lovely comments and there can be no doubt that "Big Sings" are a "Big Hit" with Good Afternoon Choir members.

Wells Cathedral - Big Sing November 2023
What a amazing day was spent with our choir members from all around the South West on 15th November 2023.
More than 500 singers from 16 of our Good Afternoon Choirs flooded Wells Cathedral for a workshop lead by Good Afternoon Choir Founder Grenville Jones and 7 more of our fabulous choir leaders: Tanya Davidson, Matt Finch, Chris Grabham, Ruth Jenkins, Laurie Jones, John Sandford and Sian Walters.
After the workshop many singers enjoyed delicious meals together in Wells' varied restaurants - several of which had opened especially for us.
This was followed in the evening by a wonderful concert to showcase our workshop songs with the Wells Cathedral School Jazz Ensemble and the Bristol Military Wives Choir! Everyone performed brilliantly!
The Good Afternoon Choir office was flooded with thank you notes after the event and here's just a sample:
I just want to thank you most sincerely for all the effort that you have done to ensure that yesterday's Big Sing was such a success at Wells. We all thought that it was a huge success and we felt privileged to be part of such an occasion in stunning surroundings. It all worked out well for us from the pick up in the morning until the drop off late last night. A long day - but well worth it! - Carys, Churchdown GAC
A big THANK YOU for all the hard work by Grenville, the office and all the Choir leaders for arranging the BIG SING 2023 in Wells Cathedral. We had the most wonderful wonderful day. Everyone enjoyed it, it was a huge success. We arrived home totally exhausted and very very happy knowing the GAC sound lifted the roof of the Cathedral. Sincere thank you to you all once again, we look forward to the next time… brace yourselves. Ingrid & John, Devizes GAC
I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make the Big Sing so special. The whole day was joyous and uplifting and I really appreciate all the hard work that went into organising it. From organising the coaches, sending out the restaurant list, to conducting the singing and everything in between, it was all very much appreciated. Please can you pass on my thanks to anyone involved. Sue, Thornbury GAC
