The Mid Devon Good Afternoon Choir have chosen to support Blue Skye Thinking with their fundraising concerts and events during 2023. |

The Mid Devon Good Afternoon Choir rehearses EVERY TUESDAY from 2-4pm at Crediton Congregational Church from 2-4pm with Jon Rawles. Come along and find out what it's like to sing in a Good Afternoon Choir. Everyone is welcome! There are NO auditions!
Jon was born in Bristol, where he gained a choral scholarship at St Mary, Redcliffe under the direction of Anthony Pinel. Jon studied musicology at the University of Durham, directing his own and other college choirs. He then moved to Canterbury where he studied for his post-graduate diploma in piano accompaniment. During his time at Canterbury, he accompanied and directed many shows and performances.
An accomplished organist, he has played in most Cathedrals throughout the UK and was the accompanist and musical director of a number of shows in Tunbridge Wells. Jon also led the community choir CREATE, helping to support local events and businesses. He has also recently been the director of the choir at All Saints Hove and leading tours to Chichester, Guildford and Rochester Cathedrals, as well as St Paul’s Cathedral London.
In his spare time Jon enjoys spending time outdoors keeping active and travelling, especially on the coast, as well as working in local theatres.
He is looking forward to leading the new Mid-Devon Good Afternoon Choir at his home Church, Holy Cross in Crediton, a community choir for everyone – no auditions – great music!
There is NO charge for attending the first rehearsal and membership information is always available. Choir rehearsals are in 4 terms of 10 weeks and members pay £54 per term, this covers all room and piano hire, music, admin and the musician fees. You do not need to join at the start of a term, you can simply come along to any rehearsal and pick up a members form should you wish to join the choir - your fee will then be worked out for the remainder of that term.
Over 1,000 people now sing with us in the Afternoons!
The Mid Devon Good Afternoon Choir enjoys all sorts of music – from folk songs to choral favourites. If you have any
questions about the Choir please contact Tracey at Grenville's office in Westfield/Midsomer Norton for any information, by calling 01761 472468 or emailing gac@grenvillemusic.co.uk - or just come along to your first free session with a friend of course! Concerts will soon be announced.
Everyone welcome - bring a friend!
