They love to sing at the Devizes Good Afternoon Choir, which meets every Friday afternoon from 2pm-4pm in St Andrew’s Church in Long Street, Devizes.
On Saturday April 9 the choir will be joining forces with the Warminster Community Choir to stage a fun night of music and song at the Devizes Corn Exchange.
Doors for the concert will open at 7pm and ADMISSION IS FREE with a retiring collection at the end of the concert supporting the Devizes branch of Parkinson’s UK.
Westcountry music man Grenville Jones is the founder conductor of the Devizes Good Afternoon Choir, he leads a number of choirs in the region and in the next six weeks launches Good Afternoon Choirs in Keynsham and Bristol.
He said;
“Over 125 lovely people are members of our Devizes afternoon choir and we have a great time together singing popular melodies and choral classics. This is a non-audition choir so everyone is welcome and in May many of the members from Devizes will be setting out for Cornwall for a singing weekend based in Truro.”
Grenville Jones is Patron of the Cornwall Community Choirs who will host the visit of the Devizes singers in May.
There is no charge for admission on Saturday April 9 at the Devizes Corn Exchange, doors open at 7pm so early arrival is advised.
