2023 - Concerts supporting many local charities

Other recent concerts were Churchdown GAC who gave their first ever concert with special guest Toby Brewer. They raised an amazing £810 for Jenson's Journey. Bristol GAC and guests the Bristol Military Wives Choir raised a superb £580 for their chosen charity, Gympanzees. Our Wells GAC performed with the Cheddar Male Choir also raising a magnificent £532 for the PAPYRUS charity. North Somerset GAC, with guests Pill Festival Band, raised £344 for the Children's Air Ambulance and our Bath GAC raised £400 to enable a new music therapy group for Parkinson's sufferers living in the City - their guests were the talented Curtain Up Theatre School. Our Taunton GAC raised £441 Arc Inspiring Lives at a concert with the Taunton Military Wives Choir. Yate & Chipping Sodbury GAC raised £753 for Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, while Cirencester & Stroud GAC raised £212 for The Church Project. Devizes GAC have so far raised £500 for the Sidmouth Street Club and the Malmesbury GAC raised £210 for their local Alzheimer's Support 'Music for the Mind' project. The Chippenham & Calne GAC performed at the Chippenham Folk Festival recently, while the Norton Radstock GAC have raised £339 for Children's Hospice South West. All the benefitting charities or local groups are chosen by the members of the choirs.
Across the West of England the 24 Good Afternoon Choirs have already raised £14,415 for many local charities. Choir Founder Grenville Jones said: “Last year our total was over £22,000 and with the fantastic support of choirs like the Bristol members and with Christmas concerts ahead, I am hoping we can reach £24,000 by the end of the year.” There are many more concerts in the months ahead and full details can always be found on our concerts page
