The West Wickham Good Afternoon Choir rehearse every Monday afternoon at The Assembly Halls from 1.00-3.00pm.
Grenville Jones, the founder of the Good Afternoon Choirs is delighted that Steve Urie is the leader of the West Wickham Good Afternoon Choir.
Steve studied music, film and television at Canterbury Christ Church and, having taught in Croydon schools for the past 18 years, he is now a part-time primary school music teacher, as well as leading our West Wickham Afternoon Choir. Over the last 25 years, he has been involved in various amateur dramatic societies in West Wickham and Croydon, both on stage and as music director. Favourites to date have been music director for Follow The Star, a musical nativity with St John's Dramatic Society in Selsdon and being on stage with his son in Oliver! at the Churchill Theatre with West Wickham Operatic Society.
A warm welcome awaits any new members, there are NO auditions and everyone is welcome! There is no charge for attending your first rehearsal. Come alone or with a friend – either way Steve and the Choir will be pleased to meet you. You will be joining over 1,000 people singing at Good Afternoon Choirs around the South West and beyond!
Membership forms are available to collect at every rehearsal. The choir rehearsals are in 4 terms of 10 weeks and members pay £68 per term – this covers room and piano hire, music, admin and musician fees. You do not need to join at the start of a term, you can simply come along to any rehearsal and pick up a membership form should you wish to join the choir – your fee will then be worked out for the remainder of that term.
If you have any questions about the Choir please contact Tracey or Karin at Grenville's office in Westfield/Midsomer Norton via e-mail [email protected] or tel 01761 472468.
