The Thornbury Good Afternoon Choir is led by Sian Walters and they are busy preparing their programme for the concert which will support the choir’s 2025 chosen charity, Children’s Hospice South West. The charity has been supporting families in the South West for over 30 years and are dedicated to providing the best possible hospice care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions.
The Good Afternoon Choirs were started by Bath-based Grenville Jones 16 years ago and there are now 35 across the South West of England, South Wales and London, with over 1,600 members ‘Singing in the Afternoon’.
If you are interested in becoming a member, there are no auditions to join and your first rehearsal is free – come alone or with a friend! Thornbury Good Afternoon Choir meet every Thursday afternoon from 1pm-3pm at Thornbury United Reformed Church. Special guests for the concert will be Dodington Parish Band, formed in 1996 to create a band of all ages for the local community, they will be performing a varied entertaining programme of music on the night.
