The North Bristol Good Afternoon Choir rehearse every Monday afternoon at Westbury-on-Trym Methodist Church from 2.00-4.00pm.
Grenville Jones, the founder of the Good Afternoon Choirs is delighted that Daniel Pate is the leader of the North Bristol Good Afternoon Choir.
Daniel Pate is passionate about the power of singing to bring people together. He believes choir rehearsals should be fun, accessible and rewarding - there’s nothing quite like the experience of singing fantastic harmonies in a group! He firmly believes that this is something everyone can benefit from - there's no such thing as "can't sing"! Dan has always loved music, studying at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts before training as a music teacher and working as a secondary Head of Music for many years. He began teaching community choirs in 2017 and now leads a number of choirs around the area alongside composing, arranging and music teaching.
A warm welcome awaits any new members, there are NO auditions and everyone is welcome! There is no charge for attending your first rehearsal. Come alone or with a friend – either way Daniel and the Choir will be pleased to meet you. You will be joining over 1,000 people singing at Good Afternoon Choirs around the South West and beyond!
Membership forms are available to collect at every rehearsal. The choir rehearsals are in 4 terms of 10 weeks and members pay £58 per term – this covers room and piano hire, music, admin and musician fees. You do not need to join at the start of a term, you can simply come along to any rehearsal and pick up a membership form should you wish to join the choir – your fee will then be worked out for the remainder of that term.

Southmead Hospital - Christmas 2025
What a wonderful surprise for North Bristol GAC to be joined by Father Christmas when they sang at Southmead Hospital in December 2025.
April 2025 Concert with the Police Choir
On 4th April 2025 the North Bristol Good Afternoon Choir were delighted to welcome the Avon and Somerset Constabulary Male Voice Choir to "Sing Out" with them at a concert at Westbury-on-Trym Methodist Church.
Singing at Southmead Hospital Atrium December 2024
Bristol Good Afternoon Choir sang in the Atrium at Southmead Hospital - entertaining visitors / patients and helping to raise money for the Southmead Hospital Charity - twice this year. The photo above was taken at their second visit in December.
Concert May 2024
Bristol Good Afternoon Choir had a lovely evening singing at Westbury on Trym Methodist Church on Saturday 4th May with their special guests Viva Vocals. The two choirs joined together for a beautiful rendition of "Shoshone Love Song" at the end of the concert.
