Two popular Good Afternoon Choirs will join together on stage at Holy Trinity Church, Trowbridge, next Friday – March 14 – at 7.00pm (doors open 6.30pm) to welcome a visiting choir from Cornwall, the Local Vocalz.
The combined Chippenham & Calne and West Wilts Good Afternoon Choirs will be led by Matt Finch and are busy preparing their programme for the concert which will support local charities.
The Good Afternoon Choirs were started by Bath-based Grenville 16 years ago and there are now 35 across the South West of England, South Wales and London, with over 1,600 members ‘Singing in the Afternoon’.
There are no auditions to join, your first rehearsal is free, and members of our Good Afternoon Choirs come from in and around the areas. Chippenham & Calne meet every Tuesday afternoon from 1.30pm-3.30pm at Pewsham Community Centre, in Pewsham, and West Wilts meet every Friday afternoon from 1.30pm-3.30pm at Holt Village Hall, in Holt. Everyone is welcome to come along to meet Matt and the members of the choirs.
The special guests for the concert will be the Local Vocalz, a vibrant mixed voice choir based in Hayle, Cornwall, who embrace a diverse musical repertoire spanning from the Bee Gees to Vivaldi and Coldplay.
