The search is on to find a new musical director for the popular Taunton community Good Afternoon Choir.
The choir was started by Bath-based music man Grenville Jones four years ago who recruited Chris Grabham to be its leader. Chris’s musical experience is well known throughout the area and, over the last four years, has built the choir up to be more than 90 voices.
They rehearse on Tuesday afternoons from 2pm-4pm at Temple Methodist Church in Taunton but are now on their Summer break, starting back on Tuesday September 2.
“It was with great sadness when we learnt that Chris is moving to London to take on a full-time role at the prestigious Brit School in Croydon. His undoubted talent will enhance the teaching facilities at the Brit School. Sadly, that leaves those groups who he used to lead in Somerset searching for a new face at the helm,” said Grenville.

The Taunton Good Afternoon Choir is a community group with a repertoire of popular music. They start back singing again at Temple Methodist Church on Tuesday September 2 – rehearsals are weekly from 2pm-4pm.
“Previous choir knowledge is not necessary. We want to find someone who is enthusiastic and talented who can take our Good Afternoon Choir on a new journey with concerts and fundraising performances. Anyone interested should contact Grenville on 07778 282934.”
