The North Somerset Good Afternoon Choir rehearse every Wednesday afternoon at Nailsea Methodist Church from 1.00-3.00pm.
Grenville Jones, the founder of the Good Afternoon Choirs is delighted that Ruth Jenkins is the leader of the North Somerset Good Afternoon Choir.
Ruth graduated in Music at Birmingham University, specialising in voice and conducting the University Chamber Choir. After training as a Music Therapist at Roehampton Institute, and conducting the Wimbledon YMCA choir, she worked in the NHS for 7 years in clinics and hospital settings. Since training as a teacher at Warwick University, Ruth spent the last 12 years teaching music in schools and sings for her local church.
A warm welcome awaits any new members, there are NO auditions and everyone is welcome! There is no charge for attending your first rehearsal. Come alone or with a friend – either way Ruth and the Choir will be pleased to meet you. You will be joining over 1,000 people singing at Good Afternoon Choirs around the South West!
Membership forms are available to collect at every rehearsal. The choir rehearsals are in 4 terms of 10 weeks and members pay £54 per term – this covers room and piano hire, music, admin and musician fees. You do not need to join at the start of a term, you can simply come along to any rehearsal and pick up a membership form should you wish to join the choir – your fee will then be worked out for the remainder of that term.
If you have any questions about the Choir please contact Tracey or Jody at Grenville's office in Westfield/Midsomer Norton via e-mail gac@grenvillemusic.co.uk or tel 01761 472468.

North Somerset GAC members were delighted to sing in support of the Dementia Meeting Centre, Clevedon on 31st January 2022.
Service users and families joined us for many of the popular songs, singing along to their catchy choruses, moving in time to the music and adding some percussion sounds for extra sparkle. Thank you to David and team for making us so welcome!
