Make friends - enjoy singing?
Have a Good Afternoon!

The BATH Good Afternoon Choir is for everyone. It was started in May 2009 and already has over 80 members. The Choir meets on Thursday afternoons in the centre of Bath from 2pm to 4pm at the United Reformed Church in Argyle Street.

There are no auditions and the music varies from well-known songs of yesteryear to ABBA! Our picture above by James Sadler shows Francis Faux conducting the choir at their first concert on August 22nd 2009 at the Bath Forum. This was a variety show produced by Grenville Jones to support the Golden-Oldies Charity, what a fantastic night it was!

Reading music and previous choir experience are not important. This is a group that will perform at concerts and enjoy its music making. Grenville Jones is the Musical Director and Francis Faux is conductor of the Bath Good Afternoon Choir and there will be social events and concert tours to take part in.

Membership is an annual fee to include music and all this will be explained on the member’s form when you come along to find out for yourself about the Choir. Come along to a Thursday afternoon rehearsal and see if this is the Choir for you. As explained, the Choir meet at The United Reformed Church, Argyle Street but please come in the side entrance as rehearsals are upstairs in the Argyle Hall!

Get out - get singing - make it a Good Afternoon!

The Good Afternoon Choir is another music project led by Grenville Jones who enjoys the reputation of being 'Bath's Mr Music!' He was Bath Mayor’s Citizen of the Year 2009 for his work with the Golden-Oldies Charity and was also given the accolade last year of Bath Man of the Year in the Bath Chronicle for his work with the "Goldies". Both accolades also recognised the success on the 2008 BBC’s Last Choir Standing series of Bath Male Choir when they reached the top five.
